Latest competition -we have a winner!

by the website stablehands, August 26...

Our latest competition gave readers
a chance to name a horse (and get their own name published) in the next Pony Club Secrets book Liberty and the Dream Ride!

A massive thank you to everyone who entered - Stacy read every single entry and agonised over choosing a winner - it's so hard when only one person can take the prize! Anyway, you might have to get your maps out to find out where this girl lives because the winner is India Rose, who lives in the Cook Islands in the Pacific!
India's winning name was Avatar, which she describes as a pure black Arab gelding.

Congratulations India, Stacy will be in touch to sort out your prize!

Riding Star cover peek!

This is a very early version of the cover of the third book in the Pony Club Rivals series, Riding Star... This book was originally going to be called 'Polo Girls' - so in case you're confused this is now the title and cover of #3!

Stacy at Storylines

Thank you to all the PCS / PCR fans who came along to the Storylines Festival on Sunday 22 August - Stacy said she had a great day, gave a slide show on her recent trips to Spain and other places, signed tons of books and chatted to lots of PCS and PCR readers... nice one!

Congratulations Sophie!

August 2, 2010
My good friend Gwen (to whom I dedicated Fortune and the Golden Trophy) has been emailing me for the past two days with exciting news about her grand-niece Sophie Beaty, who has been competing in the Junior team for Great Britain in the FEI Pony European Eventing Champs 2010.
On dressage day Sophie had, by her standards, a rough test, but it was still good enough to put her in sixth place and Great Britain were silver medal contenders at that stage (Germany in first place after the dressage). Then, as Sophie was in the box waiting for her turn on the cross-country, there was a bad crash out on the course and she had to wait 45 minutes before she could go! Her coach told her to take the long route after that to avoid the offending fence and Sophie naturally obeyed and went clear - but with time faults. Then, in the show jumping yesterday she went totally clear again to help bring home team gold for Great Britain. Yay! Not only that, Sophie was awarded the President's Prize (see picture below) for her outstanding performance under pressure! Everyone is so thrilled for her - what a total star! Congratulations Sophie!
